No, everybody didn’t log in and change their avatars all at once.
Today I did something that’s been bugging me for a while: I ditched gravar on enjoysthin.gs. I was using them as a fallback, so that if you hadn’t uploaded an avatar to enjoysthin.gs, I’d grab it from them. Not anymore. If you don’t have one on enjoysthin.gs, you don’t have an avatar on enjoysthin.gs. Period.
I did a one time import for anyone who was using gravatar. That’s what all those activity updates are about.
