Avatars!
I didn’t post last night because I was tired… (I’ve been working on 31 features in 31 days, give me a break). Either way, I did indeed push a new feature.
You can now change your avatar directly from enjoysthin.gs… previously, you had to use gravatar. Their performance in serving the avatars was so bad that many people had asked me to switch from them for perfomance reasons. Think about that, several people asked me to switch away from a 3rd party avatar hosting site because it was slowing down my site. Imagine if every who noticed wrote in about that. I haven’t moved the existing avatars off of gravatar, I’ll do that soon…
So, if you tried to edit your profile today you’d notice that a) you can change your avatar and b) the profile edit page was totally different. Sadly, changing an existing change doesn’t count for my 31 in 31 project, so it only counts as one feature.
